As we enter 2023, Streetwear becomes a big aspect of fashion that has influenced brands like Gucci, Balenciaga, Dior, and Alexander McQueen. Streetwear mainly started in the 1990s when big artists within Hip-Hop and R&B started wearing jeans and casual wear to big events like signings, award shows, concerts, etc. Over time, streetwear became a style that can encompass many different aesthetics and also takes casual clothing, such as sneakers, jeans, graphic tees, and sweatpants, and make them not only popular but stylish and luxurious. Thus, if you want to get into streetwear, here are some Streetwear influencers to follow:
1. @og_gigi | Giavanni Flowers is a Clark Atlanta graduate with her own streetwear brand, @flowersathletics, and a style that represents streetwear in a nutshell- sneakers, baggy clothes, and accessories to perfection. The best part of her style is that she utilized a lot of color and she has looks that vary between masculine and feminine.
2. @marquimode | Marquis Neal is a model and TikTok star that is famous for his styling videos that include his dancing and undeniable personality. An aspect of his style that is captivating is that it is gender-fluid. He allows others to be comfortable in their own skin and promotes individuality.
3. @nayaashley | Naya Ashley is a celebrity stylist that has received awards for her work in fashion. She has styled influencers like De'arra Taylor, Dess Dior, Mariee Rever, Cuban Link, Bernice Burgos, and more! Naya’s styling not only has aspects of her personal style but has pieces from Streetwear that still allow her clients to look feminine and luxurious. She utilizes small businesses and couture brands like Area, Vivienne Westwood, Jean Paul Gaultier, Acne Studios, Valentino, etc.
4. @knawtkai | Kai is a stylist and model that is based in NY. He got his start on TikTok making styling videos that showed custom pieces and pieces from Black Owned Businesses. 5. @sierrarenas | Sierra is a model, professional stylist, and entrepreneur. She started to gain more attention when she started making custom tapestry clothing (amazing quality) and creating looks/styling videos on TikTok. Sierra’s style is unique because of her mix of colors- sometimes her looks can be monochromatic/neutral or colorful/vibrant. She also utilizes a lot of denim and baggy clothing.
6. @wisdm8 | Wisdom Kaye is a model, and stylist, and featured on Forbes “30 Under 30” List. He got a jumpstart on his career when he started making Tik Toks styling vintage designer pieces, then styling looks based on characters, colors, movies, etc. As he’s blown up, many big brands have started sending him out-of-the-box pieces that he had styled not only in the name of Streetwear but in authenticity and looks that have never been seen before. His style captivates both audiences with ordinary looks that are casual that everyone can attain and runway looks that only he can pull off.
7. @tia.monaee | Tia is a stylist and business owner. Her business is not only her styling clients but also custom pieces like custom trucker hats. Her style is incredibly versatile in the sense that it is still streetwear but it can be masculine and baggy or tight and feminine or even a mix between professional and casual. All of her looks are filled with color and are super vibrant no matter the season!
8. @aissatatdiallo | Aissata is a model and started to get recognition in her career when she was on Season 1 of Love Island USA. Now that so much time has passed, Aissata’s style has evolved into more streetwear from swimsuits and PrettyLittleThing. The best part of Aissata’s streetwear is that her looks are so mature. It's a lot of blazers, designer pieces, and monochromatic looks. If you're looking for someone that has a style that is good/modest for all events: the office, drinks, brunch, etc.

If you want a look at streetwear that is feminine and accentuates your figure then Ashley is the best example.
