Aniyah Davies | The Editor-in-Chief
Sophomore | She/Her
Hey Guys! I'm Aniyah Davies, the Editor-in-chief of The Element! I'm a Fashion Merchandising Major, minoring in Fashion Media and Business! I'm from Chicago (The BEST City). My passion for The Element stems from my love of fashion. Ever since I was little, I loved fashion shows, and dressing up- it was the way I expressed myself. My biggest inspirations are Anifa Mvuemba, Demna Gvasalia, and Vivienne Westwood! I love styles full of color, that experiment with shape, and are very eclectic. Outside of The Element, I'm very involved with Sister Circle, model coaching, and styling!
Why I Joined The Element?
Since I've become Editor of The Element, my biggest focus is not only making sure people can see themselves within our magazine but also ensuring that all POC at Kent State is growing with us. I just want our magazine to continue to grow as a safe haven for POC Students in every way and a place where they can see themselves on campus!

Having lived in Brooklyn and Harlem has greatly impacted my style and design influences; I love streetwear and many different subcultures. Fun fact: I love the color pink and one of my favorite rappers is Rico Nasty!
Why I Joined The Element?
Although fashion is one of the most prominent majors at Kent, I noticed a lack of organizations for Black fashion students. I joined The Element because KSU students of color deserve a fashion & culture magazine for us, by us. This year I want to establish The Element as a well-known cultural hub on campus.
