Whether it is your first year at Kent State or your last year the school and the

surrounding areas have a lot of fun hidden gems to visit in your downtime. Here is a list of the Top 4 best activities for you and your friends to enjoy around and on campus.

  1. The Kent State Farmers Market and the Haymakers Farmers Market:

    1. The farmers market that happens on campus is such a great place for freshly grown produce and a great source of natural goods and foods. Several different vendors sell a variety of spices, flowers, honey, baked goods, and so much more. There are several days out of the school year that the farmers market happens. There is an upcoming one on November 14th in the DI Hub. If you want to travel to downtown Kent there is another Farmers Market event that takes place called Haymakers. This market has more variety of vendors that make specialty goods and items. This market is open all year round and takes place every Saturday morning.   2. Midway Twin Drive Theatre and Kent Plaza Cinemas:

    1. If you enjoy going to the movies, the Midway Twin Drive-in Theatre is a great choice. You can grab your friends and watch double or even triple features. The cost ranges from $10-45 depending on which movie package you want. Especially during October, the movie theatre is playing classic horror/Halloween-themed movies. If drive-in movies are not your thing you can always go to the Kent Plaza Cinema. The cinema offers specials and discounts for students. They have $5 movie Mondays and $6 tickets for all students who have a valid ID.

  3. Ice Skating:

    1. If you and your friends are looking for a fun winter group activity you should definitely try out free ice skating downtown. This is a seasonal ice skating rink that you can expect to be set up in mid-November and usually last until February. The skating rink is located around the University Hotel and Conference Center. Whether you are a beginner or a pro at skating this will be a fantastic activity for everyone.

  4. Outrage Rage Room:

    1. Another fun activity with friends is to visit the Outrage Rage Room at University Plaza. At the Rage Room, you have the space where you can smash and break things. The prices range from $50-100 depending on your chosen package. If you are stressed out about school, work, or anything for that matter this is the perfect place to let off that steam.
